I've always wanted to free place to design a kitchen online. I've always wanted that place to have everything I need to design my kitchen. I haven't liked visiting 10 different websites and 5 different stores to find everything I need. All I need are the simple elements of kitchen design like; paint colors, styles, finishes, counter tops, flooring, tile, cabinets, appliances, and accents. Just the essentials and having images of each in clear crisp quality that I can piece together to make a great
kitchen design would be perfect. So as I'm building the website you're on today we're secretly building out the details I outlined above. The first thing we're building out is the curate kitchen designs application.
Curate Kitchen Designs
This is a fav of my mine and I believe it will be a fav of yours too. The goal here is to give our users the ability to find the kitchen designs they like and simple drag and drop the images into a container and label them for organization. Then revisit your curated pages of kitchen design for inspiration, share with friends for feedback, or send short links to potential customers (if you're a designer). The next and probably the more complicated build is the create kitchen design page.
Create Kitchen Designs
This application takes the hassle out of visiting 10 different websites and 5 different stores to design a kitchen. The goal here is to give our users the ability to browse through every element needed for kitchen design in a very easy organized format. Search through things like flooring, tile, appliances, cabinets styles, finishes, counter tops, and just about everything else you'll need. When you find the image of the item you like you then build out a design by tagging it and saving. Give it a name like 'my house' or 'smith job' and piece together all the elements. Then share the design with your friends or potential customers. Think of it as your design basket that has all the essentials of kitchen design.
Avoiding complicated kitchen design
To sum up what we're doing in 3 words; simple, elegant, and quick. I want to avoid the pitfalls of complicated design software. We're not building out 3-d rendering software, although that's pretty awesome software. Typically they're complicated and time consuming and all you're after are the essentials of kitchen design. Think about it. visiting one website and piecing together an entire design in a matter of minutes and then sharing that design with the word in just a couple clicks couldn't be any easier.
